SETAC North America 40th Annual Meeting

NOVEMBER 12, 2019 —The annual meeting of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) emphasized “the need for environmental scientists and managers from all sectors (e.g., academia, business, government, non-profit, non-governmental and intergovernmental organizations) to work together at a global scale to address shared environmental challenges.”

The theme was “Great Together: Separate Challenges and Collective Solutions,” and the meeting was held in Toronto on November 3 – 7.

Scientists, including those from NOAA, presented environmental toxicology research that informs our Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA).

The new OR&R director, Scott Lundgren, attended. OR&R’s Assessment and Restoration Division and Marine Debris Program were represented. Also from NOAA, the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS) participated.
