OR&R Trainers Are Getting Schooled
DECEMBER 13, 2021 — OR&R staff are participating in a training to improve their training and instruction skills. While the training team spends a great deal of time educating others, very rarely do they have the opportunity to be the students themselves.
With the shift to virtual training and a recognition that being good instructors takes more than just being subject matter experts, the OR&R team is taking time to hone their skills. They are studying different types of adult learning styles, how to write good learning objectives, and how best to present materials. The class consists of four, four-hour sessions. Next week, they will be crafting presentations to get feedback. They have already had some great discussions on how to improve and evaluate both their courses and their instruction.
