OR&R Presents at NOAA Great Lakes Regional Collaboration Team Meeting

February 1, 2021 — On January 28, Charles Grisafi, Southeast Regional Preparedness Coordinator, represented OR&R’s Disaster Preparedness Program (DPP) as a guest speaker at a NOAA Great Lakes Regional Collaboration Team meeting.

The NOAA Great Lakes Regional Collaboration Team is one of eight regional teams within NOAA. Team members reflect the capabilities of NOAA within the states surrounding the Great Lakes, and include NOAA employees and partners. The Great Lakes Regional Collaboration Team addresses regional challenges by engaging and connecting people and resources to provide insight and inform action.

During the January meeting, Charles presented an overview of DPP capabilities and services throughout the emergency management cycle, including preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation; and highlighted how the Program can support federal, state, and local partners in the Great Lakes and beyond. Charles also discussed DPP involvement with the NOAA Southeast and Caribbean Regional Collaboration Team, in order to provide examples of potential ways the DPP could support the Great Lakes Regional Collaboration Team.
