The design and construction of this eight-foot long uncrewed vessel was funded through the annual Disaster Preparedness Program Lagniappe Awards. This partnership project greatly improves the efficiency, safety, and accessibility of the office’s survey operations in shallow or obstructed waters. The completion of the project just in time for the 2022 hurricane season augments the office’s emergency response arsenal, complementing their Navigation Response Team crewed vessels and Mobile Integrated Survey Team kit.

The program’s annual Lagniappe Awards fund activities and projects that enhance National Ocean Service preparedness and mission readiness for natural and human-caused disasters. The Disaster Preparedness Program is proud to support this mission-critical project and congratulates the Office for Coast Survey on their success.
