Federal and state trustees shared updates on case progress and project updates related to injury assessment and restoration. The NOAA Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) presented on common and potential marsh injury assessment techniques. Attendees also had an opportunity to listen to other presentations on NRDA small spills and incident response.

Trustees received a tour of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Fisheries Center and wetland areas. Participants visited the fish hatchery facility to learn about multiple fish species’ life history and current restoration efforts, as well as toured wetland areas to view numerous species of wetland plants.

Twenty-nine trustees attended the three-day meeting both virtually and in person. NOAA offices in attendance represented OR&R, NOAA Fisheries and the Office of General Counsel for Natural Resources. Trustees are looking forward to the spring 2025 trustee summit to provide case updates, share ideas, and present techniques related to natural resource damage assessment.
