Marine Debris Program Participates in Keep Florida Beautiful Conference

JUNE 14, 2021 ─ On June 3, Ashley Hill, the Marine Debris Program’s (MDP) Florida & Caribbean Regional Coordinator, and Hillary Burgess, the MDP’s Monitoring Coordinator, presented during the Keep Florida Beautiful (KFB) Annual Conference.

Ashley and Hillary discussed the status of the Florida Marine Debris Reduction Plan, provided updates on MDP-funded projects in Florida, and shared information about the Marine Debris Monitoring and Assessment Project (MDMAP) and how attendees could get involved.

KFB is the state umbrella organization for Keep America Beautiful, and is a community-based education and action organization. The virtual conference brought together approximately 30 people from KFB affiliates across the state who work on litter and marine debris prevention. Other sessions provided updates on initiatives and highlighted affiliates’ accomplishments from the past year.
