Disaster Preparedness Program Plans for the Next Fiscal Year
JUNE 22, 2020 — On June 1-5, 2020, The Disaster Preparedness Program (DPP) held a virtual all-staff operational planning meeting to start planning for FY2021.
DPP staff, as well as members of OR&R’s Business Services Group, Headquarters, and Emergency Response Division, gathered virtually over five days to celebrate successes from FY20, evaluate survey input from NOAA partners for FY21, and start to draft an operational plan for FY21.
Team members spent time discussing and evaluating future activities and evaluating new opportunities for the coming fiscal year. The DPP team will work to finalize the FY21 operational plan in the coming months, including reaching out to folks across NOS and NOAA to solidify partnership activities and projects for FY21.
Many thanks to everyone who provided input to the pre-meeting survey. We look forward to working with partners to improve preparedness through provision of exercise, training, regional coordination, resource and planning expertise. In addition, the DPP is planning to continue our internal preparedness awards, so stay tuned for an internal call for proposals for our second annual Lagniappe Preparedness Awards!
