Digital Debris - Learn about Marine Debris Online
APRIL 6, 2020 — On Wednesday, March 25, the NOAA Marine Debris Program shared a blog outlining educational content about marine debris available online.
As learning situations shift to online platforms or homeschooling, parents and teachers are looking for resources to educate students or activities to help pass the time. The blog outlined free activities, videos, and more. A few suggested activities were viewing the Trash Talk series, coloring in the Understanding Marine Debris Activity book, and creating a magnet craft.
For example, the Protect Our Ocean Activity Book, created by the NOAA Marine Debris Program and Office of National Marine Sanctuaries, uses word searches, games, and coloring pages to teach students about the ocean and marine debris. The activity book is appropriate for children in Grades K-3, but the NOAA Marine Debris Program also has activities and curricula suitable for other grade levels, as well as university undergraduate students.
