APRIL 19, 2019 — On April 16-18, 2019, staff from NOAA’s Assessment and Restoration Division, NOAA’s Restoration Center, and NOAA’s Office of General Counsel for Natural Resources participated in the biannual Texas Trustee Summit held in Port Aransas, Texas.

The summit provides an opportunity to build new and enhance existing relationship with our trustees — the Texas General Land Office, the Texas Environmental Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife, and US Fish and Wildlife Service — as well as with representatives from the Department of Justice and the US Environmental Protection Agency.

The summit also offers an opportunity for the trustees to coordinate on and discuss our case docket, as well as develop strategies for moving forward on our cases. The Audubon shared their on-going efforts to restore the Gulf of Mexico for birds and people, specifically in Texas.
