This document is the result of a productive and collaborative effort between the MDP and regional partners, including representatives from governments, non-profits, academia, and the private sector.

The purpose of the Action Plan is to address everyday marine debris and debris generated by disasters throughout Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina through coordinated actions. It coordinates partners’ shared goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve those goals and corresponding actions.

The MDP solicited stakeholder input to the Action Plan through three workshops, attended by 95 participants from partner organizations. Partners committed to a total of 109 actions. Going forward, the MDP will support partners’ actions by tracking their progress, identifying gaps and potential solutions, and sharing relevant news and resources.
