The goal of the meeting was to bring together representatives from all of the NOAA line offices and programs that may become involved in an Alaskan response, with the goal of fostering preparedness and improved coordination of NOAA response efforts. Line offices roles and responsibilities for Alaska disaster scenarios ranging from oil spills to earthquakes and tsunamis to space weather were discussed, focusing on cross-agency coordination and information sharing. Incident Command and the NOAA All Hazards Concept of Operations were also discussed. The field setting also allowed for training on Shoreline Cleanup Assessment Technique (SCAT), Environmental Response Management Application (ERMA®), NRDA sampling, and donning of cold-water immersion suits.
