During the event, Sherry shared information on "Turning off the Tap on California's Trash".  Her presentation included an overview of the marine debris issue, the current state of the science, and ongoing effects in California. The Rotary Club demonstrated concern about marine debris globally, asking questions about reduction initiatives taking place not only in California, but worldwide. Following the presentation, the Club asked Sherry to sign a children’s book about the ocean, and donated the book to a local elementary school.
