From OR&R, Jessica Conway represented the NOAA Marine Debris Program and spoke about how to use Marine Debris Response Guides to aid in their debris removal operations. Allyssa Zebrowski also spoke on the ability of OR&R's Disaster Preparedness Program to work among all aspects of the disaster cycle to ensure communities are optimally prepared to respond to and recover from hurricanes.

Amongst other NOS offices: the Office for Coastal Management presented the resources available through the Digital Coast platform, including their new higher-resolution land cover imagery; the Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services described products like the Coastal Inundation Dashboard and custom storm dashboards that provide valuable water information during hurricanes; and, the National Geodetic Survey discussed how their office provides support to communities through post-hurricane aerial imagery along the coast to help identify where damage has occurred.

This multi-office collaboration allowed for NOAA staff to demonstrate how our products and services can be disseminated among communities, especially before, during and after a hurricane hits. Continued collaboration throughout different NOAA offices is key to effective community engagement during hurricane season. The FFMA was thankful for this joint effort across NOS as this year’s hurricane season is fast-approaching.
