Oil spills, ship groundings, and hazardous waste sites threaten coastal communities and ecosystems across the country, but NOAA's Damage Assessment, Remediation, and Restoration Program is working to bring restoration to where it's needed most.

Right now, NOAA and co-trustees are working on more than 100 cases and have recovered more than $2.4 billion to fund restoration solutions such as creating marshes, building fishing piers, and removing dams.
